Quick and Dirty Daggers
For this project, you'll need the following:
|
DAP
3M Spray Adhesive
Scrap 3/4" PVC Pipe
PVC End Caps
|
1/2" Evalite
2" Unifoam
Scissors
Foam Knife
|
|
Step One: Prepare the Core, Closed Cell
|
|
This design is for quick, dirty, crappy daggers. They take minutes to make (most of the wait is dry time) and you can
easily make a dozen in an hour. The design isn't the greatest - it's not intended to be. It's intended to be fast as
hell. If you do not cut the open cell very well, it will compress to the side. Most of my designs take imperfection
into account already so they're very easy to duplicate, this one doesn't. :)
First, DAP your end caps on. After they're dry, wrap and cap both ends.

Step Two: Stabbing Tip
|
|
Cut a piece of open cell foam at least 2.5" across. (Your 3M cap is about that size...) 3M it on. The open cell will
overhang immensely. After it's dry, duct tape around the whole end 6-10 times. If you're really clever with your duct
tape wrap (but poor with your open cell cut), you can fix the compression problem, by the way. Use diagonal strips to pull
the direction differently. But anyway, add a sock and you're good to go.
